The athletic program at St. Jerome School serves to enhance the educational opportunity for all students. Academic achievement is the student’s goal. In this framework, students must maintain a C average in all major subjects. This rule is non-negotiable.

Athletic involvement gives the student the opportunity:

  1. To learn the skills of a given sport.
  2. To learn teamwork.
  3. To learn that in any sport there is winning and losing and having sports like conduct.
  4. To learn the value of time and scheduling so that one area of growth is not achieved at he expense of another.

There’s no disputing that athletics and extracurricular activities are secondary to a good education. Volunteer coaches and event sponsors are always welcome. They can contact the school office or the St. Jerome Sports Committee.
