THE HOLY FAMILY
The Feast of the Holy Family is celebrated in the midst of the Christmas season when we recall a major tenet of our faith - that God became man, was born of a woman, and was nurtured and raised in a family. This feast reminds us of the earthly journey of the Son of God made man, and conveys the message of the sacred significance of the family as an un deniable fact of humanity. We are witnesses to the problems of family life in modern society. In today's world more and more young people enter into illicit relationships, afraid or unwilling to commit to one another in marriage. Tragically, and with greater frequency, the procreation of children takes place under abnormal circumstances and through abnormal means.
The fact is that mankind had its origins in the family and is meant to live within the family unit. If human science knew of a better way, then God would have chosen it as the means of humanization. Yet God chose the setting of the family, and was Himself born into and raised within a family. Therefore, we pray to the Holy Family to intercede for us through the Spirit of our families, the same Spirit that prevailed in the Holy Family. Jesus was, by the power of that same Spirit, begotten, born, and nurtured in the Holy Spirit. May that same Spirit guide your family to grow in the virtues that can influence the entire world, especially our parish, for a better, a holier, and a more blessed family life.

MASS OF THANKSGIVING ON NEW YEAR'S EVE
Come to a special 6P.M. mass and give thanks to the Lord for the graces we have all received in the year 2001. Later that evening a special Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in our church from 11P.M. until 12:30 A.M. Everyone is welcome to join our prayer group for this vigil. Please come and bring your friends. Let's begin the New Year with Christ.

CROATIAN ALMANAC 2002 presents stories of prominent personalities in the fields of science, business, religion, art, and politics ... Based on extensive research by the Ethnic Institute in Chicago, a selection was made from among the two and a half million American and Canadian Croats, and from the many compatriots who have departed from this life. The result is that we have a number of extremely distinguished men and women to add to this series entitled "Outstanding American and Canadian Croats". This book can be purchased in our rectory for $15.00.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dear Parishioners,
One more year is behind us. Every passing and departure carries with it questions for reflection. Did we take advantage during this past year of every opportunity for goodness? Did we go to church enough, pray to God, help others in their times of need? Once again we recall the past year. For all the good we have done, we thank God. For all our faults and sins, we ask forgiveness and the will to rectify them in the new year. We hope that your New Year will be filled with the peace and blessings of God, who is the only giver of life, hope, and peace. May you have every happiness.

THANK YOU for your Christmas gifts to our church and to us priests as well. Thank you for the many cards, greetings, best wishes and your kindness. May God bless you for every kind deed and word, everything you have done for your church in this year. May God bless your families, your friends and all those you love and hold dear to your heart.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS
We thank all of our parishioners and friends who donated flowers to decorate our church so beautifully for the Christmas season. God bless you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

REMINDER We sing, we pray, we reflect, and we get in touch with Christ through adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Please join us every Thursday from 7-9 P.M. He awaits you!

WORK TO BE DONE IN CHURCH
On the 7th of January we will begin the renovation of our sanctuary. The floor will be done in marble by our parishioner Mr. Karlo Simatic.

BLESSING OF HOMES Our priests will be available to bless homes after Christmas. If you would like one of the priests to come to your home, please call the rectory to schedule a date and time for this beautiful Catholic tradition.

Thought of the Week
"Faith in the future begets power in the present."
