WEEKLY MEDITATION

We are now in the middle of Lent with as much time behind us as before us. The beginning and the end are equidistant. Our situation is similar to that of the Israelites. It was the same distance for them to return to Egypt as it was to complete the journey to the Promised Land. Their bitter life in the wilderness had become oppressive. The situation was very grave. God was their only hope and He helped them.
We, too, often find ourselves in situations where, despite all our efforts, no help comes. There are instances when we say, "Now only God can save me!".  The way out of our complicated life situations is often simple and within reach.  We might only need to gain a new perspective. Changing perspectives and examining problems objectively might sometimes be beneficial. That which often times is incomprehensible while we dwell internally on the problem, can suddenly become clear when we look at the problem from other, outside angles.
