WEEKLY MEDITATION

The message that Jesus proclaims to the Church and the world today is clear to the listeners who desire to become doers of the words of Jesus. The message is not like the "muddied waters" of the flood of waters from the dragon's mouth that pursue the Woman of Revelation 12 as she flees into the desert to the place prepared for her by God. No, we have the clear teaching of Jesus concerning what actions and attitudes will send us to hell, or be the proof of who we really are as the "new creation" we are to become in Christ Jesus (II Corinthians 5:17).
14 For it will be as when a man going on a journey called his servants and entrusted to them his property;15 to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them; and he made five talents more.
17 So also, he who had the two talents made two talents more.
18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Early in December we will print the parish envelopes for 2003. Those who would like to become parishioners, but still have not registered, are asked to come to the rectory to register. If your address has changed, please notify us. Thank you.

A calendar listing the activities for 2003 will be published next month. We ask that all parish clubs, societies, and our two schools, notify us immediately of the activities and events they have scheduled for next year so that we can include them.

90th ANNIVERSARY VIDEO A set of 2 videos from the parish anniversary mass and banquet will be available this coming week. The set can be purchased at the rectory office for $20.

MARIAN SOCIETY On November 24, the Marian Society will serve coffee and cake after the 9:30 A.M. Mass. They will also prepare a luncheon (donation $10) that will be served at 12 noon, following the 11 A.M. Mass. All proceeds will go towards the renovation of our church. Come and enjoy a delicious homemade meal!

H.S.A. NEWS Join us for "Breakfast with Santa" on Sunday, December 8th. Breakfast will be served from 8 A.M. - Noon. Cost: Adults $6.00; Children $3.00. Menu: pancakes, eggs, sausage or bacon, coffee, juice or milk. Christmas pictures will be taken from 8:30 A.M. - Noon. Choice of three poses: Baby with a present, Child with Santa, Family in front of Christmas tree. $15.00 per pose; cost includes 2- 5x7, 4- 3x5, 8 wallets.

BAPTISM Today in our parish community the sacrament of Baptism will be received by Ivana Cooper, daughter of Edward and Mara (Karacic) Cooper. The godparents are Ron Signaretto and Jadranka Karacic. Congratulations!

OUR DECEASED On Wednesday, November 13, Biserka Marusic, wife of Tomica Marusica, passed away. Her funeral will be held in our church on Saturday, November 16 at 10 A.M. She will be interred at St. Mary Cemetery. Our sympathy is extended to her husband, children, sisters, brother, relatives, and friends. May she rest in God's peace.

REQUESTS FOR MASSES Our church teaches us the importance of praying for the dead and offering masses for their souls. We are pleased that our parishioners remember their beloved deceased with memorial masses; however, we ask you not to request that all of your masses be celebrated on a Sunday because it is impossible to accommodate all of them. We will be scheduling Sunday masses only for the anniversaries of the deceased. All other masses will be scheduled during the week. Please schedule anniversary masses well in advance. It is our hope that you will respect this request. Thank you!

SECOND COLLECTION Next Sunday, November 24, you are asked to donate to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Contributions to this charitable cause help to alleviate poverty and suffering at their root causes. Thank you for your generosity and concern!
